Junction Arts Commission

Junction Arts commissioned Adverse Camber to work with two local schools and a youth group to co-create a performance that was shared as part of the Chesterfield Children’s Festival on Sunday 28 July and Tapton Lock Festival on Sunday 8 September.

Storyteller Pyn Stockman, visual artist, Khadijah from Generous Waste and musician, Ann Jones worked with Clowne Junior School, Sharley Park School (Chesterfield) and Blend Youth Group who meet in Barrow Hill, Chesterfield.

All the participating young people, schools and groups shared their ideas and story threads with Pyn, Ann and Khadijah to help create a performance together. They created songs and devised a 20 minute performance. They also made banners  and flags for the promenade performance at both events. 

The performance was called,  “The Journey from Here to Now” and was performed at Chesterfield Children's Festival and Tapton Lock Festival. See some of the images from the workshops and performances below.
