Right Royal Stories are a hit at Derbyshire Libraries

Over 400 people came along to enjoy some Right Royal Stories in 13 libraries across Derbyshire throughout June 2022 for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

"Entertaining. Amazing. Cool. Lovely. Fun. Enjoyable. Funny. Fascinating. Exciting. Intriguing." are just some of the words the children and families used to describe the very regal work of our courtly storytellers, Rachel Murray and Tim Ralphs.

Rachel and Tim expertly spun superb stories, drawn from their rich treasure chest of folktale and legend, and invited school groups and families to discover their inner royal, to imagine what they might do if they were in charge and to celebrate the part we all play in making our communities amazing places to live.

Derbyshire Libraries said after struggling to bring people back into libraries since the pandemic that, 'many children have already returned to the library to join with their families, the story sessions have left a great and positive impression and hopefully a lifelong love of stories.'
