2 x Freelance Roles for Welsh tour
Phil Okwedy and Adverse Camber productions are working with a creative team to develop Phil Okwedy’s performance ‘The Gods are All Here’ for a 15 date Welsh tour from May to November 2022. The Gods are All Here is a skilful blend of autobiographical and traditional storytelling for adults and young people aged 12+. The performance evokes the importance of stories from all of our everyday lives and family relationships, as well as folktales from a range of cultural perspectives. The piece also reflects the corrosive experience of everyday racism in the UK in ways which are accessible to audiences of all backgrounds. Warm and entertaining, the piece celebrates the importance of human relationships, important as we move back into live cultural engagement.
Adverse Camber prioritises investment in creative process as a fundamental value to the way it works with artists. We create a safe and supportive space for artistic risk-taking. We assemble bespoke creative teams around productions to ensure additional expertise feeds into the production, with the originating artist’s vision always central to the creative process. Directors, Designers and Technical Managers give their best advice and expertise, adding to and augmenting artists’ vision in the service of the strongest possible work for audiences and programmers.
We are seeking expressions of interest in two roles attached to The Gods Are All Here creative development and tour.
Designer – £1250 fee for up to 5 days plus budget of up to £600 on materials and clothes.
Bring your design eye to the staging of this performance and performer clothing, manage the reproduction of original letters, postcards ensuring they are robust for touring
Wales-based Shadow Producer Role – 12 days @ £125 per day to shadow the production during the creative development phase of work, provide some support on tour and support marketing and engagement plans.
We are particularly keen to hear from people who are significantly under-represented in our organisation and sector, including people from Black and Global Majority cultures, disabled people, people from LGBTQ communities, people from lower socio-economic backgrounds.
