Alexandra Stafford

Alexandra Stafford is a theatre lighting designer with over 25 years professional experience. She graduated in 1988 with a Degree in English Literature and a love of working in Technical Theatre. 

She began work as a lighting technician in Cambridge and was then based at the LABAN Centre for Contemporary Dance also touring at technical manager with VTOL. She was head of lighting at Derby Playhouse. During a 12 year period there, she designed the lighting for Derby Playhouse productions for the Artistic Director, Mark Clements.

Since 2004 she has been freelance lighting productions for regional and national theatre companies including Nottingham Playhouse, New Vic Theatre, Red Earth Theatre Company and York Theatre Royal.

Based in Derbyshire my work combines theatre design  with architectural consultancy and lecturing.
