Phil Okwedy

Phil Okwedy is a Welsh performance storyteller and myth-maker, born in Cardiff to a Welsh mother and Nigerian father. He draws deeply on his dual heritage and multiple cultures and performs regularly in storytelling clubs and festivals across Wales and England, as well as internationally at Kea Festival in Greece and Fabula Festival in Sweden.   Phil has recently worked with National Theatre Wales on Go Tell the Bees and been commissioned for Literature Wales’ Representing Wales, Developing Writers of Colour programme.

Phil’s first book, Wil & the Welsh Black Cattle, is a brilliant collection of Welsh folktales framed around the mythology of the ancient cattle drovers.
