Zahra Afsah
Born and raised in Tehran, Zahra is a storyteller who crafts the ancient Persian stories she tells with precision and passion.
She studied Persian Painting and Transcultural Visuality, examining the links between oral storytelling and Persian miniature painting exploring the direct influences of the oral tradition.
Travelling to many countries she tells for all ages on all kinds of stages. Her inspirations are drawn from Persian literature to legends, myths and folklore. Zahra has run workshops, performed and told stories in schools, museums, festivals, exhibitions, mosques, mountains, tents and bazars.
What I want to achieve through mentoring:
I hope with your mentoring support, the precious Persian stories that have been handed down from heart to heart for many centuries, can be felt and understood beyond any ideological or geographical borders through my growing skills as a teller (both professionally and practically) and strong belief that we are truly all One.
